I had the same problem awhile ago. Bought a couple expansions on Amazon as they were on sale. I actually just go through Origin now. Download the Origin app and register your game on there. I actually like running through Origin over Steam anyway as you get some free downloads for registering the game, as well as some free Sim Points. Open the launcher and start reinstalling all store stuff in groups. Don't install all in one go. Start with the worlds, then lots, then sets and single items last. When you're done, backup the DCCache folder. If the same starts happening again, go back to that backup so you don't need to start over. The game is working fine, but I can't successfully install any of my purchased store content. I downloaded it successfully, I went through the install process, I got the "Success" message, and it showed up on the Installed Content tab in the launcher. But it was not in the game. When I ended and restarted the game, it was showing up on the Then, if you need to reinstall a piece of store content, just copy the appropriate .sims3pack file into the downloads folder and install from the launcher. No don’t shut down. I just deleted the Sims 3. I don’t want to have to redownload all of the store content twice when I get it set back up. Lol I saw posts from a couple years ago how

If it works, close the launcher and transfer all important data from your old folder to the new one (saves, mods). Alternatively, do it the other way around and move the "Download" folder to the backup Sims folder, delete the newly generated "The Sims 3" folder and rename the backup folder to The Sims 3 again. kGODfa.
