Also, even if you go to the trouble of converting every object and color in your document to RGB (which really isn't necessary), you still have to use the correct setting in the PDF Export Output tab. The warning you are getting indicates that you have the Destination set to a CMYK profile, which conflicts with your RGB Transparency Blend Space.Using the new Pantone feature to match Pantone colors to chosen CMYK at Adobe Color will not help. If you want to maintain the appearance to InDesign, save the Adobe Color swatches as Lab. Below you can see what happens to the CMYK apperance in InDesign—the colors would also change depending on the assigned CMYK profile.
There can be problems with converting InDesign native colors, that you have to consider. Any black or gray colors built with black only will convert to 3- or 4-color (with the exception of the default [Black]). Pure primary colors like 100% cyan or 100% yellow might get "contaminated" with other colors. And yes once you do that you will not be
It might not be the end of the world to leave them RGB and have the printer convert to CMYK. The color won't be identical but it might not be a huge deal depending on what you're using it for. People say to convert RGB to CMYK before printing but that's only to ensure you get 100% accurate colors. Make colour space CMYK not RGB! Since InDesign is used for printing out things, having the option to change the colour space from RGB to CMYK would be great, as trying to select a colour using colours that aren't in the CMYK gamut is annoying as heck. If you want to color manage the conversion of an HTML hex color to the closest FOGRA39 CMYK version of the color (#FF5050 is out-of-gamut to most CMYK spaces), set the InDesign source RGB profile to sRGB (modern web browsers display HTML hex values as sRGB) and the destination CMYK profile to FOGRA39 via Edit>Assign Profiles. You do the same. Let's click 'Create'. Its just a nice empty library at the moment, but what it's going to do is, when we add our colors we'll add them to the library at the same time, and when we bring in images, and icons, they'll go in there as well. So, to add colors-- we're going to add corporate colors.
Sep 16, 2010. The Destination profile is the color space you got from the printer -- FOGRA 27, SWOP 2, something like that (or posiibly the document CMYK working color space) -- that you specified in the output section of the export dialog. To change the blend space: Edit > Transparency Blend Space > and you only have two choices.
